the thought stops
me cold on the road
surprised at the long shiver
running and running through me
even still -



Whose woods these are some thought they knew.
His house is in the village, too;
He never walks among the trees
That wait for someone there who sees -



Are there gods in the woods?
the trees hear
me ask the question
and shine like silver beacons
lighting and lighting the way
just in case
