Currently at Toronto Pearson: -12. High today: -6. First day it hasn't broken freezing at Pearson since Jan. 3. I'd fairly confidently guess that those seventeen days in a row of highs above freezing constitute the longest such streak in January ever recorded at Pearson. We were woken up by thunder around 3:30 yesterday morning as the cold front came through.
Like I've said before, it's very difficult to take a decent picture of the moon, at least when it's dark, with the equipment I've got. Tonight I took about ten thousand pictures of the moon and Jupiter--closest together in our sky until 2026, earthsky.org tells me--with Aldebaran, and they're pretty much all lousy. But, here, you get the idea:
