Lost meaning under the meaningless sky

High today in KW: 22. Dewpoint then: 8. High dewpoint: 10.
High today, here: 23. Dewpoint then: 7. High dewpoint: 11.
I didn't look too closely, but I did look long, because it's just so amazing. In the, what, week or so since my last report on the dog's terrorist attacks, it has completely laid waste to my garden. There are two large holes where the two lilies were that actually managed to bloom. The begonias are all gone but one. The impatiens are all gone but two. The pansies are all gone, but that probably has more to do with the fact that nobody waters them and pansies don't handle heat well. Two of the four perennial whatsits I bought in June are gone. All the cosmos but one are gone. All the sunflowers are gone. The remaining daffodils that survived the winter, well, we'll have to wait 'til spring, but I think I'm going to list them as presumed dug up and eaten.
The two delphiniums, however, are battered but still standing, presumably due to their being covered with little prickly hairs.
