South-easterlies keeping the temperature down in TO today. Supposed to be 30 and better here the next few days.
Josh Towers threw his 10th consecutive quality start yesterday (and actually got a win out of it, though Gibbons took him out after 6, as usual, with a pitch count under 100, for reasons which remain mysterious). To think, a few months ago I was still calling him "Hendrickson 2.0". Mark Hendrickson has an ERA over 6 this year. I guess J.P. picked the right one.

--relating his own work on racial IQ differences to L'Affaire Summers (or, more like it, using Summers as an excuse to re-hash his stuff on race and IQ). Don't know what to make of it all ... so many fine lines between the blatantly obvious, the uncomfortably plausible, the subtly tendentious, and the howlingly fallacious (e.g., the claim that racial categories have been proven to be "real" because geneticists' attribution of race based on genetic information matches people's racial self-identifications in 99.9% of cases).
