Yellowing into harvest
Aug. 7th, 2013 01:40 amCurrently at Toronto Pearson: 20. High today: 24. The dewpoint has edged up to 17. But the Accuweather long-range doesn't offer much indication of a return of deep summer.
Today I heard the starlings massed somewhere nearby for the first time this summer. On exactly August 1 I came across the first aster of the year, a little ways up the drive at the cottage:

One of these days I'll get my baby loon pictures up here, but for now, back to the back yard.
Bugs really love coriander, for some reason.

( A couple of weeks ago I got one of those upside-down finch feeders. )
