Same old same old
Nov. 9th, 2005 11:00 pmHigh temp today, here: 15. Dewpoint then: 14. High dewpoint: 14.
High temp today in TO: 13. Dewpoint then: 11. High dewpoint: 12.
Little pocket of warm air closing quickly from west to east--it was 21 in Windsor early afternoon; freezing rain in Ottawa much of the day. More morning window-rattling here, and another brief storm with the cold front in the afternoon that produced a likely tornado in Hamilton. Dewpoint dropped from 14 to 3 between 3 and 5.
Pretty remarkably screwy. "A rare November thunderstorm", they said on the local news--well, yeah, the first since ... three days ago! But that one may have been the first in years and years. It is amazing how the weather sets up in patterns like this. Still no sign of the fall monsoons. There are streamers coming off Huron and Georgian Bay, but well after the cold front--didn't get the funny rake effect on the radar.
Read "The Metamorphosis" again today ... I do not like this story. But, you know, I think I like "The Judgment" in part for coming right out, short and sweet and over the top, with what "The Metamorphosis" sets up this whole elaborate drawn-out symbol for: this Kafka guy really has issues with his father.
