Monthiversary
Aug. 3rd, 2005 12:56 amOverheard in the Central Fresh Market today:
"I was going to go to Toronto this summer, but I decided not to because of all the terrorist attacks."
Tonight on Global, Susan Hay explained that the wind suddenly started blowing from the northwest at 60 gusting to 90 kilometres an hour, and that's "a windshear". I wonder how she felt about being elevated from weather gerbil to Meteorology Expert (due to plane going off the runway at Pearson, apparently due to thunderstorm). I wonder if she wished it wasn't Michael Kuss's night off.
No luck finding a print of two mooses kissing. Nothing remotely close, actually. Will have to widen my search parameters tomorrow. Geographically, I mean, not thematically.
High temp today, here: 30. Dewpoint then: 17. High dewpoint: 21.
High temp today in TO: 30. Dewpoint then: 20. High dewpoint: 23.
Currently, EnvCan has a dewpoint here of 13, and UW has a dewpoint of 21. I am hereby declaring the EnvCan humidity readings for Waterloo hopelessly broken. Which was most of the reason I've been recording the TO readings all along. Too bad UW doesn't keep dewpoint records in its archives.
