Tiny toads

Currently at Toronto Pearson: 10. High today: 17. This'll be the first night since June 19 that it's gotten below 10 at Pearson.

As I've been walking all over the place around the cottage this year, I've noticed a lot of "tiny toads", which I had never noticed before except as they've hopped across the road in front of the car at night (which is always horrifying since, being so small, by the time you see them it's too late to do anything about it ... though, being so small, they stand a pretty good chance of not being hit). There were also a whole bunch of "tiny toads" in the woodlot at York a few weeks ago.

It turns out, to my surprise, that these "tiny toads" are actually three rather different things: wood frogs--

For the last few years, since I've started going up to the cottage at spring peeping time, I've wondered what they look like.

It was startling to discover that they're three different things because they're obviously three different things when you look at the pictures, but I only noticed that I have pictures of three obviously different things when I started poking around the internet to figure out what "tiny toads" are.
