You know how it is with an April day
Apr. 4th, 2013 11:37 pmCurrently at Toronto Pearson: 3. High today: 11. Pretty normal spring so far, which means that people are complaining about the lack of spring, by which they mean summer.
And the first wasp of the season:

It really is funny how taking pictures of wasps has changed my attitude toward them. I would almost like to pet them on the head. Well, most of them--I probably still won't want to pet any bald-faced hornets on the head.
( The same two irises have bloomed first as bloomed first last year, ) with the yellow one again the first of the two (and presumably behind them there is the more purply one with the spindly blossoms). For some reason the yellow one hasn't opened fully. No bugs on them this year. What if there hadn't been that ant on the yellow one last year? Who knows.
( One pansy lived through the winter. )
Three weeks from now we'll be in the air to London, on our way back to Whitby ... only five years later than originally advertised.
