The rites of spring begin anew
Apr. 5th, 2012 07:08 pmCurrently at Toronto Pearson: 6. High today: 9.
... and this'll be my first eljay post from a pub--back at the Absinthe for the second Thursday in a row. Bottom of the 12th inning, bases loaded, Jays manager John Farrell executes the first mid-inning left-fielder change I've ever seen, replacing Eric Thames with 100-year-old shortstop fielding legend Omar Vizqel, so that they can play with two outfielders, and have Vizqel play between third and short. Result: 6-4-3 inning-ending double play. On to the 13th. (All after they tied it up with three in the ninth.) What a ballgame!
ETA: J.P. Arencibia 3-run homer (after fouling off a bunt attempt) in the 16th--"Let's Go Blue Jays!" pronounces the Absinthe....
EagainTA: Jays win 7-4 in 16. Epic.
