A sadness song

Somehow, the lyrics to Martin Tielli's / Nick Buzz's "The House With the Laughing Windows" are not anywhere (or anywhere googlable) on the interwebs yet. (If this isn't the best song hardly anyone knows about, well, I don't know what is. (Like the Rheostatics' "Stolen Car", there isn't even any studio recording.)) (ETA, Nov. 2013: now that this song is on the Nick Buzz album A Quiet Evening at Home, they are now, here.) So, here you go, interwebs:

(Transcribed (prompted by watching Barry Lyndon, finally) from here, with a h/t to an old eljayer of one of your acquaintance, who posted the first verse somewhere once--it seems to have vanished, now, but I remember what she had for the second line, which I think I never would've gotten on my own. The main variations on the version on "The Ghost of Danny Gross" (vol. 3 of the Tielli subscription series)--which was also recorded live--are that he sings "I had a plan", rather than "You and I, we had a plan", and he sings "These things must die" rather than "These things must end" in the second line of the final chorus. He also sings "forever" after "you and I would live in there". Other than that, he just varies the number of times he sings lines or phrases in the bridges and choruses.)
