Currently at Toronto Pearson: 0. High today: 6. First serious snowstorm of the season is in the forecast for tomorrow. So far the most Pearson has measured in a day has been 5 cm. But the temperature is supposed to hang just above freezing, so it could end up being another all-day-melting-wet-snow thing.

It occurred to me as I was finishing off my latest sacrifice to the APA that word limits for conference papers may have something to do with the kind of breezy, informal style that a lot of philosophy papers seem to have these days. One way to pare your paper down to the word limit is to use as many contractions as possible.
