Today we walked to the river, which was the last remaining thing we were supposed to do before leaving this place. Walking to the river was a much longer and more complicated process than anticipated, which made us late for Beers with Jackson, such that he had to come rescue us in his Big Honkin' Truck. We walked to the river through several different worlds, more worlds than I could have imagined there to be between here and there.

We saw one bunny rabbit on the way back. I was surprised we didn't see more wildlife. Waterloo is rife with bunny rabbits lately. (Don't know about Kitchener. My life is entirely directed toward Waterloo these days, which is a complete turnaround from our first year here.) Haven't seen a single hawk this summer. Maybe they're letting the area go fallow this year, so they'll have a good crop next year.

Finished the Meno paper, again, last night, at 1 a.m. (How many times have I finished the Meno paper? This is at least the sixth time.) This business of the library being open until 2 has been quite good for working (though not so good for this thing). But I certainly wasn't expecting to take this two week detour back through the Meno paper. Accepted or rejected, this version is much better--though, like I said, the basic point is still the same. It's just a better read. And it is somehow, amazingly, longer, despite the fact that I started by cutting out half of it.

Won't get back to the libraries until next week, probably, at which time they'll both be closing at 5, or something. A new shift in my mode of being. Who knows what's next. Moving is off. Nothing is set. This is the first time I'm not going back to school since 1978.
