Going into today's game, Roy Oswalt had a record of 0-4 with an ERA under 3 for the last month. Today, he gave up four runs in six and two-thirds innings, and won. It's a funny game.

I wish I could read all the time with the focus I read with when the library is closing in an hour and I want to get something read. Last night, that was Weiss's book. Today, it was the Phaedo. This just floored me: Socrates lists some things that he had thought he would be able to give causal accounts of when he was into natural science, and one of them is how belief and memory produce knowledge--it's the theory of recollection! That's insane! Why have I never noticed this before? Why haven't I ever seen anybody notice this before?
