Nov. 12th, 2005 10:54 pmHigh temp today, here: 15. Dewpoint then: 4. High dewpoint: 5.
High temp today in TO: 14. Dewpoint then: 5. High dewpoint: 5.
More of those rare November thunderstorms in the forecast for tomorrow morning. Potential Gamma taking a holiday in Panama.
Made chili. Very nice, creamy chili. I think the key to good chili is, you have to boil it.
Halfway through Dalloway. What a lark. What a larf. O, heavens.
Dalloway, oddly, reminds me of a soap opera, in that it's the kind of thing that might encourage people to take their petty little relationship problems oh so very deadly seriously--as if people need any encouraging.
The funny thing about this course is, the prof's a product of mid-20th-century Freudland, so everything for her is all about that--but for me, all this stuff is so heavily class-oriented, in a Nietzsche/Hegel-inflected way: the slavish bourgeois seeking recognition, "respectability", though usually they're the bohemian "bourgeois manqué", as someone calls Tonio Kröger, bourgeois despite themselves.
In other old news, my arm is still weird.
