Frozen drops of rainwater lying around when I was walking home at 1:30 last night. Maybe I should bring my potted hydrangea in. I don't know what to do with it. Beta getting read to run into Nicaragua; possible, but unlikely, Gamma moving across Jamaica.

Ate the leftover Hubbard squash tonight. No matter how much it's cooked, the flesh sticks to the skin. Boo.

That was some crappy World Series. Almost makes me sorry for hoping the Yankees and Red Sox went out early. I mean, I don't mind low-scoring games (and speaking of which, it was nice to see Pat Quinn crapping all over The New NHL), but offensive incompetence is something else again.

Trying to get through Michael Mahon, Foucault's Nietzschean Genealogy. It's a 180-page special, half quotation, gospel-according-to-Foucault-reciting, lousy book. But, you know, if you want a book about Foucault's genealogical method from a Nietzschean perspective, this seems to be it. A bunch of high-powered folks are thanked in the acknowledgements--Habermas, Bernauer, William Richardson. Makes you wonder.
