Local weather gerbil says "the humidity's definitely on the rise this evening at 83%." Down with relative humidity!

High temp today, here: 25. Dewpoint then: 14. High dewpoint: 16.
High temp today in TO: 26. Dewpoint then: 16. High dewpoint: 17.

Spent much of today fretting over various permutations of flight-and-hotel for SPEP in Salt Lake City. Pretty much settled on one, then figured I'd check to see how much it would cost for an extra day--turns out it costs less for an extra day. The best deal I found, coming back Saturday, came to a total of $790; the one I actually got, coming back Sunday, came to $765. (Well, actually, the first one was the best that didn't involve Northwest Airlines, whose mechanics are on strike.)

Apart from that, spent too much time on usenet, which of course loses its pleasurability in direct proportion to the amount of time spent. No wait, actually, in direct proportion to the number of words written. I wrote a lot of words.

Read nothing. Nada nada nada. Playing out the string. Which reminds me: John Gibbons was sad tonight. I haven't seen him sad before. It was sad. I wish people would quit it with the Jays-need-to-turn-it-around crap. Given that they've lost their 1 and 2 pitchers for a long time, they've done better than anyone could reasonably have expected.

John Olerud hit a couple of home runs tonight for the Red Sox. Wouldn't mind having him over Hinske right now, eh? Ah, poor Eric Hinske.
