High today in KW: 14. Dewpoint then: 11. High dewpoint: 12.

The kestrels showed up in Kitchener today, wheeling around and yelling their heads off. Whenever I see them I wonder how many people know that so many of these little falcons are around in the city. I didn't, until just a few years ago, when I finally figured out what these little birds are that flutter around, way up in the sky, and scream. There are always some hanging around York. I'm pretty sure I've heard at least one starling imitate them. Maybe they know it's a good way to scare the hell out of the other starlings--sneak up behind them, and scream like a kestrel.
